How to Fix the Element TVs that Won’t Turn On?
Do a Power Reset
First, unplug the power cable from the power socket.
Then locate the power button on your Element TV. Often you will find that on the back of your Element TV or in the centre bottom of the TV.
Once you find that keep pressing it for 30 seconds.
Then, wait for another 1 minute before you plug back the connection and check again whether your Element TV now turns on.
Try a Different Power Outlet
Plug your Element TV into a different Power Outlet on the Wall and try to turn it on again. Often, we overlook this and it can easily solve this.
Check the Power Cable
Check your Element TV power cable for any damage or cut. It can happen and would not let your TV turn on.
If there is damage, you need to replace the power cable.
Check and Swap the HDMI connections
The HDMI connection often has issues. Do check all the HDMI connections to your TV to external devices.
Try swapping the connection to another HDMI port of your Element TV and if it works, then the HDMI port has an issue on your TV. Also, try replacing any HDMI cables to check for any issues in that.
Factory Reset Without Remote
As this TV is not turning on, you cannot use your remote control to factory reset it using the menu.
In this case, you need to hard reset your Element TV using these methods.
To check this, you need to turn on the TV and check the TV screen using a flashlight. Using a flashlight if you can see any text or image on the screen, it means that your Element TV is turning on but you are seeing a black screen due to the backlight issue.
In this case, troubleshooting won’t work, it needs hardware repair!
Check with Element TV Support
For any hardware-related issues, it’s advisable to contact the Element TV support team.
If your Element TV is under warranty, then you can claim repair using that. Otherwise, the support team will help estimate the repair and fix cost for your TV.
After getting the cost you can then decide whether you want to repair it or go for a new one.
What are The Reasons Behind This Issue?
Now, why did this happen? Let’s check the reasons:
Backlight Issues
The Element TV you are using has a backlight on its panel. Once they light up properly, then only you can see the image on the TV screen.
If the backlight itself is damaged, then even though the picture would come on the TV it will be so dim that it will be hard to see and it actually appears like a black screen.
HDMI Cable/Port Issue
I have seen this many times that either the HDMI cable or the HDMI port is faulty.
In either of these cases, the signal from an external device connected to your TV won’t reach and hence it shows a black screen.
Not only that, even if you are using an HDMI extender that may also get damaged causing this.
Power Outlet/Power Cord Malfunction
This can be a power issue and if the power outlet is not delivering power, it can definitely cause this issue.
Also, power cord damage can cause this issue. I have seen in many cases, there are rat bites that have caused damage in the power cord.
